From the ACandyRose Internet Subculture Forum: These were the postings by WebbSpyder regarding mysterious stranger at JonBenet's grave: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Sep-29, 1999 5:46 pm To: ACANDYROSE (14 of 71) 559.14 in reply to 559.13 prev next 559.15 Hi, I am sorry that I was not more clear about the visitor to the cemetery. I will try to clarify and expound a bit about my unsettling experiences. I have gone to the site numerous times, to remember JonBenet in a personal way. The cemetery is located within my general geographical location, give or take 10-15 miles. Several times this past spring and summer, there has been a person kneeling on the top of the grave (on the flat marker covering the grave). This person has some peculiar characteristics.... I observed this person from my car for a short time, and decided not to get out of my vehicle. It probably sounds silly here, but you would have to be there to see the disturbing aspects... I have heard through the grapevine that there have been other reports similiar to mine... the person had the same physical characteristics and displayed the same behavior (always kneeling on top of the grave). One person whom I have talked with speculates that the person may be a close relative of Patsy Ramsey's who has been considered by some to be a suspect in the case. I do not know if the person is a local, because the car is not parked within the cemetery grounds. Local or not, family or not, it is a bit unsettling to view. I have decided not to go to the cemetery alone again. My comment about the connection to the LHF was in jest, mainly, as I do not know any identity. However, I do want to avoid any upclose and personal exchanges with him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Sep-29 6:45 pm To: MadT (MADTODDLER) (17 of 71) 559.17 in reply to 559.15 prev next I was taught the same thing, one does not trample over a grave. The person was on both knees every time... Creepy is not strong enough for how I felt for a variety of reasons. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Sep-29 6:52 pm To: MORRISBJ2 (18 of 71) 559.18 in reply to 559.16 prev next Darn and drat!!! I tried very hard to leave the personal pronoun out of my post, but I see where I used the masculine. Yes, it very well could be PaughPaugh. I have not taken any photos, but have compared the photos of Paugh with the appearance of the man. Everything fits, but the man is always wearing a cap..Neatly dressed, but wearing a cap. Since it does not fit the rest of his appearance, I believe it might be worn as an attempted disguise. Has anyone else seen a man fitting this description at the cemetery? If so, please EMail me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Sep-30 11:25 am To: ACANDYROSE (25 of 71) 559.25 in reply to 559.24 prev next CandyRose, I suppose it was a combination of the following: 1) No mode of transportation on the premises, which is unusual during the day because there are so many cars parked on the side streets (H.S. staff) and none within the cemetery grounds .It is a lot easier to park on the cemetery grounds, in other words. Does someone drop him off and come back for him or is he leaving his vehicle somewhere else, and if so, why? 2) He is the ONLY person I have ever seen kneeling for periods of time on the flat part of the marker. I don't mean just as if in a brief prayer, but staying in that position. As we all know, there is a bench just beside the grave, and several just across from it. 3) I go there less often now, because of him, but every time I drive onto the grounds, he is there.I would estimate that I saw him over 8 times in a 6 week period. 4)One single red rose with the thorns stripped off was lying on the gravesite after he left on 3 separate occasions.(I left and went to the Square for the period of time that he was in the cemetery.)It was not wilted in the sun, but I do not know for certain that he left it. 5)He is always alone. 6)I have never seen him around Beth Ramsey's grave, which, as you know, is next to JonBenet's. 7)He has stayed on the grave for over two hours at a time. I know , because I got really weirded out after doing some shopping and then driving back by and still seeing him there. All in all, there is just a weird feeling about the man's continued presence. I wonder if he is a family member, a friend of the family, an Internet fan, or some kind of perverted person. When I visit, I sit quietly but openly on the bench under the tree. My face is not hidden from view, and I have never stayed over 10-15 minutes. Am I wrong to think that this man is odd? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Sep-30 5:05 pm To: ACANDYROSE (28 of 71) 559.28 in reply to 559.26 prev next I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your son. A BIG HUG to you!! Yes, the more I have thought about the man, his age and everything, I believe that he is a family member, probably Grandpa Paugh. They live in Roswell, about 15 minutes from the Marietta cemetery. Either way, since I do not consider him to necessarily be a benign person in this crime, I can still understand why I have felt a really uneasiness about this. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Oct-1 5:48 pm To: ACANDYROSE (31 of 71) 559.31 in reply to 559.30 prev next Since JonBenet lived almost all of her life in Boulder, I assume that the gardener would be a Boulderite, right? Somehow, it doesn't seem probable that he would be making frequent trips to Marietta, does it? I feel sorry for Wilton (whoever he is, haven't met him online yet) ...I am sitting here wondering if I am strange for wanting to remember JonBenet in the same way now. I have never been a funeral goer, even of relatives (you know, grandparents, that sort of relative) because I find funerals so very sad and they are not comforting to me. However, I was so surprised to find that the cemetery where JonBenet is buried is such a peaceful and lovely place. I have had so much turmoil, anger, sadness..I am sure most of you have felt the same ways about this murder. When I go to her grave, I can sense a strong feeling of peace there. It is my only way to let her know that she is not forgotten (if spirit children can know these things). I have thought that her little short life may have been filled with much torment for longer than we know. When I sit beside her grave, I KNOW that she is with the angels and that she is at peace, eternally. It is one of those totally unexpected emotional experiences. I expected to be sad and mostly just curious the first time I went, with no thought of ever returning. Somehow, there is a need within me to know that she is at peace and that the suffering that we have discussed for so long is truly over for her. When one is within the gates of her final resting place, there is a sense of peace and comfort. I am so thankful that I have gone there, for it has afforded me a different kind of closure than the tragic finality of her death. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Oct-2 11:52 am To: MORRISBJ2 (43 of 71) 559.43 in reply to 559.42 prev next I would love to meet some of my fellow Anti-Rammers in Atlanta. Believe it or not, Marietta and the surrounding areas are quite lovely and friendly. (Unlike metro Atlanta). This is such a friendly forum, I am so happy that you opened the gate for us, BJ. As to whether or not the person I have seen at the cemetery was a lady or a man, certainly could be a woman in disguise... WHOM do we know that would want or need to be disguised, hmmm? I can only think of one local, and the thought of being in close proximity to her makes me ill. Plus, the person at the gravesite was tall and thin, judging from what I could see. She is neither. The roses make me think it might be someone from the forums, since the story got a lot of coverage online. There are usually flowers on the gravesite, always a small bouquet like one would carry from the floral department of the grocery, so I know that people who want to show their respect and love for JonBenet come there often. I don't think the flowers are related to the family, because of their simplicity. I don't think a Ramsey has ever had a simple, beautiful thought in connection with this death. Again, JMHO. Hugs, Amanda ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Oct-2 5:21 pm To: MORRISBJ2 (45 of 71) 559.45 in reply to 559.44 prev next Nice to meet you, BJ. :) I haven't actually met any online poster in real life, and would like to, under the right circumstances. I know it is probably just wishful thinking on my part, but wouldn't it be great if we could have a huge celebration in about a year to celebrate two convictions for Murder One? A celebration of final justice would be so satisfying! I don't know if Wilton posts here, but I certainly wouldn't want him to get the idea that I am accusing him of weird behavior at JonBenet's grave. I hadn't heard of him until I started posting here a couple of weeks ago. The defining feature of the person at the site would be the prolonged kneeling, I would think. Wilton would have to be wilted from staying in that position in the hot Georgia sun this summer. Hmm, that makes me wonder a bit about the stamina of the person who was there. Would Patsy have the fortitude to do that? Would her father? I know I wouldn't, and I am not an overweight person, not a cancer survivor, nor heading towards elderly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Oct-19 7:17 pm To: ALL (21 of 40) 613.21 in reply to 613.20 prev next HOW NOT TO MAKE OUR CRIES FOR JUSTICE HEARD!!! I went to JonBenet's grave today while I was on the square in Marietta. SOMEONE, probably well-meaning, has written on her gravestone, "No justice in U.S.A." in red marker (or hopefully, lipstick). I didn't know it had been marked on, or I would have brought some cleaner to try to get the writing off. If anyone from the area goes there, please take some 409 and paper towels and try to get things right, OK? A small note encased in plastic might have been appropriate, but it was so sickening to see that even her grave is being defiled. JMHO ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: WEBBSPYDER Oct-28 12:44 am To: BLCAT2 (69 of 71) 559.69 in reply to 559.65 prev next Hi, BLCAT2, Welcome to the forum if you are new, and forgive me if you aren't new and I didn't see you before now, :). I think you are asking me to take a picture of the man I have seen at JonBenet's gravesite, right? I haven't seen him recently. Also, the last time I went was after the red writing "No Justice in U.S.A" had been done to the site, and before the public was notified. I got a really bad feeling about someone doing that.I have gone there out of respect and caring . It was a bad thing to happen. I doubt very much that I will return to the gravesite. I like Ruthee a lot, and would have loved for her to have seen the man, too. I don't presume to have the abilities that Ruthee has, but I also have very strong intuitive feelings about things... I know that I don't want to return to the cemetary. The peacefulness is gone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
